You must have heard of…

An (occasionally illustrated) informal parish diary.

Wednesday, May 12th 1999.

Something of a landmark date in the history of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception in Bicester – we entered cyberspace! With a couple of innocuous clicks of a mouse button, the parish website – which had been in the planning stage for some weeks and with only a test page on the web, sprang into life. Our apologies if it seems rather sparse at present, it is still very much under construction and is an on-going project which will develop over the coming months. I hope that soon, you will be able to see, and hear, us. Please revisit this site.

We said "goodbye" to another member of our community, Paul Moss (right). One of our long standing servers (no pun intended) he recently completed a degree in theology he applied and was accepted by the Archdiocese of Birmingham as a candidate for the Priesthood. This weekend he departed to commence his studies at the English College in Rome. Please pray for him as he begins his priestly formation and that other young men may be called to serve in the ordained priesthood. A ‘Prayer for Vocations’ has been added to our Prayer Page.

On Sunday, 24th April 2005 we were pleased to welcome Bishop Philip Pargeter to ordain Dale Roberts to the Permanemt Diaconate.

On Pentecost Sunday we were honoured by the visit of His Grace, Archbishop Charles Bo, of Rangoon. He was the principal celebrant at the 11.00 a.m. mass during which he was presented with a cheque for £3,737.76. This had been collected by parishioners during Lent to aid the school in his home village of Monhla in Burma.
